The Maple Buerger Bonsai (Acer buergerianum), also known as the Trident Maple, is a highly valued deciduous bonsai appreciated for its compact leaf size and its spectacular coloration in spring and autumn. Renowned for its vigour and rapid growth, this variety develops thick, powerful trunks that give the tree a mature and imposing presence even at a young age.
Its foliage transitions beautifully through the seasons—bronze and light green in spring, deep green in summer, and vibrant red, orange, and yellow in fall. In winter, it naturally sheds its leaves, revealing its strong trunk and refined branch structure.
This specimen is currently in a growing plastic pot, allowing continued development and thickening. Photos were taken in October 2025, showcasing its stunning autumn colors.
