The Siberian Elm (Ulmus pumila) is a hardy and adaptable deciduous species highly appreciated in bonsai for its resilience and fast growth. Originating from North Asia and Siberia, it handles both cold and heat extremely well, making it an ideal choice for beginners or anyone wanting a vigorous tree that responds quickly to training.
Its fine, serrated leaves create delicate ramification, while its bark gradually becomes rough with age, giving the tree a natural, mature character. In autumn, its light green foliage transforms into a beautiful golden yellow, adding seasonal interest and charm.
